Your glamping pod is nestled right within the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This stunning chain of hills offers a fantastic alternative to the more challenging peaks of Snowdonia, with rolling green hills, ancient forts, and panoramic views that stretch all the way to the coast.
Whether you're looking for a challenging climb or a gentle stroll with a view, the Clwydians have a trail for you.
Hike 1: The Coastal Ramble from Your Doorstep
You don’t have to get in the car to find adventure! Step out of your glamping pod and follow a lovely local ramble that connects you with the North Wales Coast.
Difficulty: Moderate
Distance & Time: Approximately 5.9 miles / 2.5 hours (round trip from the gate)
Key Features: This walk takes you on a mix of local trails and country roads, leading you towards the charming coastline. The route takes in the scenic Talacre beach and its famous Point of Ayr lighthouse, It’s the perfect way to stretch your legs and get your bearings on the first day of your holiday.

Hike 2: The Iconic Moel Famau (Jubilee Tower)

This is the most famous peak in the Clwydians and a must-do for any visitor. The hike to the summit is incredibly rewarding and perfect for all fitness levels.
Difficulty: Moderate
Distance & Time: Approx. 3-4 miles / 2-3 hours (round trip from the main car park)
Key Features: The summit is home to the stunning ruins of the Jubilee Tower, built to commemorate the golden jubilee of King George III. From the top, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking 360-degree vista of the Wirral, Merseyside, and even the mountains of Snowdonia on a clear day.
Starting Point: The main Moel Famau car park (Bwlch Pen Barras).
Hike 3: A Section of Offa's Dyke Path
Offa's Dyke is a monumental earthwork that runs along the border of England and Wales. A beautiful section of the path runs right through the Clwydians, offering a fantastic day hike.
Difficulty: Moderate
Distance & Time: Varies, depending on your chosen section. A popular choice is the 5-mile stretch from Llandegla Forest to the Offa's Dyke viewpoint.
Key Features: This hike offers a mix of open moorland and peaceful woodland trails. The sense of walking in the footsteps of ancient history is truly special, and the views across the border are fantastic.
Starting Point: Various access points, with easy parking at popular spots like Llandegla Forest Visitor Centre.
Hike 4: Cilcain & the Clwydian Way
For a more tranquil ramble, the village of Cilcain offers access to a number of beautiful, circular walks along the Clwydian Way.
Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
Distance & Time: Varies. There are many options, from a 2-mile village loop to longer, hillier routes of 5-6 miles.
Key Features: This area is known for its beautiful rolling hills and quaint farmland. The trails are generally well-maintained and offer a peaceful escape. The village of Cilcain itself is a charming reward at the end of your walk, with a fantastic local pub.

Before You Go: A Quick Guide
Check the weather! The Clwydians can be windy and exposed, so a good waterproof jacket is essential, even on sunny days.
Lace up your boots. Proper hiking boots are highly recommended for comfort and stability on uneven ground.
